  • Ensuring a comfortable day out in your WAV

Time goes so quickly these days that before we know it, spring will be here. What better way to enjoy the season than with a day out? It may be a tour of some beautiful countryside, a visit to a landmark or a trip to the coast. Whatever it is, being on the road in the fresh air is a fantastic feeling.

Wherever you go, make sure you drive your WAV smartly to get the best out of your day. Here are our top tips for maximum pleasure.

Once you have picked the destination for your relaxing day out make sure you plan the route in advance. Check the route for possible traffic jam spots and seek out any shortcuts. If there is a toll road on your route you might want to use that and cut out any potential time that may see you stuck on congested roads. Plan a couple of routes just in case the one you take gets blocked at any point.

    Drive smoothly

Remember safety is paramount, especially for passengers, so you want to make the journey as comfortable as possible. Make sure when going around bends to ease on and off the accelerator as gently as needed, and use gentle movements for steering to ensure the car travels as smoothly as possible and eliminate any jerking that may cause discomfort.

Ensure you are fully prepared before you set off on your day out. Make sure the vehicle has enough fuel to cover the day. That sounds simple but if you are diverted for any reason you don’t want to run out of fuel. Take a spare tyre with you. Again this is basic stuff but if you are going on country roads you don’t want a puncture to spoil your day.

Days out can be excellent fun but the journey to and from the destination is as equally important as the time spent there. Use these three tips to ensure the journey doesn’t ruin the day.
